haute coco brian prugalidad rum cocktail recipe

This beast of a cocktail is going to make your life better. Well, at least your night. Or day. Whenever you decide to consume it. All the time. To quote its maker, contributor Brian Prugalidad (@hoyboss instagram) of Polite Provisions and Bakers Hill Bar & Restaurant says, “It’s goooooood.” We tend to agree. The clever balance of heat and coconut milk dance with the savory and sweet notes of mole’, and the lime/rum combo is a classic go-to. The Haute CoCo has just enough heat to let you know it means business, and just enough sweet to seduce your mouth into wanting more.

Haute CoCo
1.5 oz Plantation Rum
.5 oz Ancho Reyes
.75 oz Lime
.75 oz Coconut Cream
2 dashes Bittermens® Chocolate Mole Bitters
1 dash Bittermens® Hellfire Habanero Shrub Bitters – 5oz
Garnish: Lime Wheel

Combine all ingredients in a shaker, add some chunks of frozen water, and let it rip.  Strain, and serve “up”.  That means sans ice.
